The Serra Club of St. Louis is an organization of Catholic laymen founded in 1943 to encourage religious vocations. Mary Queen of Peace Parish has 19 members and more are welcome to join. The 19 make up the largest Parish Group in St. Louis, which has about 120 members throughout the Archdiocese.
Meetings are held twice a month at Westborough Country Club. After lunch programs are built around guest speakers, usually on some aspect of religious life. The annual calendar also includes several dinner meetings, with spouses, and a luncheon meeting with priests at Kenrick Seminary. There is a Fall golf tournament for members who are interested.
The members work closely with the Archdiocesan Vocation Director. Members take varying responsibilities in Club projects designed to turn the minds of young people toward the possibility that God may be calling them.
