Friends,
Three weeks until Easter: let’s check in. How you doing? How’s your Lenten observance going? There’s a simple measure as to the ‘success’ of our Lenten practices: am I becoming more loving? So, am I? Am I making progress in virtues like patience, understanding and humility? Am I open to, aware of, and embracing moments to grow in those virtues and so be more and more reconfigured in imitation of Christ Jesus? Easter- three weeks away! My Resurrection, my reconfiguration, my transfiguration: am I making progress toward it?!
Don’t forget two (of many!) options to give Alms this Lent. The parish is sponsoring one: building dormitories in Honduras. You can use the envelopes at the doors of church or make a gift online through your regular Sunday giving portal. If you need help, call the parish office.
There’s also the annual Deacon Diaper Drive: there’s details in the bulletin. Bring in those diapers and our deacons will get them to families in need.
This weekend, we’ll start talking about the Women’s ACTS Retreat that will be on May 15-18th. MQP does the ACTS Retreat really, really well and we’re excited about this next retreat! It’s a great opportunity for the women of our parish to encounter Christ Jesus in a casual, fun, and provocative way. Women come together to share, laugh, pray, learn, and grow in Communion with the Lord Jesus, the True Self, and our parish Community. There are details in the Flocknote and bulletin. If you have any questions, drop us a line at the parish office.
Finally, Archbishop Rozanski will be here on April 1, 2025 to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for the young people of our parish Community. Archbishop Rozanski will call down and bestow a new outpouring of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit on our young people and in doing so their Initiation into the Church is complete and reenergized by the Spirit as they commit to Discipleship at a deeper, fuller level. Come Holy Spirit and enkindle in them the fire of your Love.
Finally, finally: Fish Fry next Friday, April 4. We’re always in need of volunteers. Check our more details in the Flocknote and bulletin! And come up and get some fish. I understand the salmon taste like a ribeye!
Peace and prayers for you!
